Werewolf By Night

  • Opens on a shot of the original 6 Avengers (1:08), meaning this is at least post-2012.
  • No family was more prolific at killing monsters than the Bloodstone Family. (1:30) The patriarch has “long controlled” the supernatural relic, ‘the Bloodstone.’
  • The image of the dead Ulysses Bloodstone reads: “Ulixes, sepsis fillius quantae(?) de lapidibus, occisus est, et occiditur in ultima plenilunio anni, et in fine sanguinum.” (1:50) He was slain on the last full moon of the year, at the end of the battle. The noun “anni” uses the suffix “i” which makes it a genetive singular noun, adding possession to this selection of words bracketed by commas. It’s the last full moon “of the year.” Considering only modern Latin uses commas for punctuation, the genetive noun here makes it clear this translation was intentional.
  • Waxing gibbous moon in picture. (1:51). Likely meant to depict the night/hunt of his funeral.

  • The Bloodstone offers “longevity.” (5:33)

  • Elsa was “the greatest disappointment of his life.” (6:14)
  • Jack has “over 100 deaths.” (6:43)
  • “Knowing his spirit would not be with us tonight, to state his wishes for the ceremonial hunt, he orchestrated his presence in other ways.” (7:30)
  • Ulysses’ body appears to have aged about 3 weeks to a month. (8:05)
  • The Bloodstone “was to be his daughter’s but through decades of absence Elsa has long forsaken that birthright.” (9:46)
  • “For tonight it’s every hunter for themselves.” (11:10)
  • Jack Russell has a medallion like the rest of the monster hunters, so his kills are legitimate. (11:16)
