With the creation of this new site, a major goal was to create a library of timeline-related notes as an aid to others seeking citation on where certain titles within big IPs (Marvel, Star Wars, etc.) take place on their respective timelines. I’ve begun slowly releasing some of my personal notes via the Timeline Journal, and over the last month we’ve continued to expand that feature of the site.
So what’s new on the Timeline Journal? Instead of noting each individual entry since we’ve begun, let’s stick to the new entries within the past week or so from our MCU and Star Wars sections.
- Marvel Studios’ Werewolf By Night was a particularly fun title to annotate. You can also check out our new video, ‘When Does WEREWOLF BY NIGHT Take Place?’ and our accompanying article on its Dia de Muertos’ connections.
- Star Wars’ Path of Deceit, the first novel entry in Phase 2 of the High Republic’s publishing initiative, by authors Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton. This book is incredible!
- Star Wars’ The High Republic (2022)’s first comic issue by Cavan Scott takes us to Jedha, c. 382 BBY.
- I’ve updated the placement of Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law from “Undetermined Year” to its new 2025 placement, and unlocked my notes for episodes 4, 8, and 9. You can also check out our new video ‘When Does SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW Take Place?’
- Just today I’ve uploaded my notes for the Kiersten White Star Wars novel, Padawan, exploring an early adventure of a 16-year old Obi-Wan Kenobi.
- Han Solo & Chewbacca, a new ongoing Star Wars comic run by Marc Guggenheim. We’ve uploaded our notes for the first 5 issues, which we believe occur c. 2 BBY.
- Lastly, we’ve adapted our 2019 timeline notes on 2011’s Thor film, to round out the MCU’s 2011 film selections.
That’s it for this week. Keep checking the Timeline Journal for new entries regularly! What titles are you interested in me annotating?
